looking to try take off the front sight with daves help and add a silencer, to make a support sniper assult monster

Its beastly! To get the front site off as far as im aware you need to remove the flash hider etc and then knock a couple of pins of the bottom of the sight part and it should slide up. Should be youtube vids about etc.

dave tells me that its the front sight that holds the ras on, but there is a replacement part available to somewhere but without the sight.

yeah anything like that at lowest price would be great, but im not really sure where to look for them

The part you want is called a Gas Block, theres loads of versions.
